Is Magic Nothing legit?

Yes. Magic Nothing is a music marketplace run by Magic Nothing Inc., a California company. Artists pay for a guaranteed review from a real human curator, not a guaranteed placement. If an independent curator doesn't review your pitch within 72 hours, it expires and the tokens go back to your balance automatically, ready for another pitch (our editorial playlists run on a longer window, with the same automatic token return). Every payout runs through Stripe, and we publish the running totals publicly.

What does Magic Nothing actually sell?

Three things, all priced upfront:

1. Playlist pitching. Pick playlists, spend tokens, and real curators listen and answer. You're buying the review, not the placement.
2. Promotion campaigns. Hire a vetted marketer who runs real ad campaigns for your track, album, or playlist. Artists review their marketer after working together: 44 verified campaign reviews so far, and 98% would recommend their marketer. Those reviews rate the marketers, not us, and they're shown on each marketer's profile.
3. Courses. Music marketing courses, included with your account.

Is Magic Nothing a scam?

No, and you shouldn't just take our word for it. Playlist promotion is a corner of the industry with plenty of real scams in it, so judge any service, including us, by what it promises and what it publishes. This is the checklist we'd use:

1. Do they sell guaranteed placements? That's payola, it breaks Spotify's rules, and it gets playlists banned. We don't allow it, and curators caught charging for a spot get removed.
2. Do they publish numbers you can check? Ours are at magicnothing.xyz/numbers, and the payout totals reconcile against Stripe's records.
3. What happens when nobody reviews your song? Here, your tokens come back automatically, after 72 hours for independent curators and a longer window for editorial. That has happened 4,070 times, returning 22,464 tokens, without anyone having to ask.
4. Do they screen for botted playlists and say how many they removed? We've removed 199 playlists and 66 accounts so far, and both counts are public.
5. Can a curator pass on your song and still get paid? Here, yes. Curators are paid for the listen and the honest answer, which is exactly what keeps the answer honest.

Are the playlists on Magic Nothing botted?

We don't sell streams or followers, and artificial activity is against our rules. Curators run their own playlists on Spotify, so no marketplace can certify every eventual listener, and anyone claiming otherwise is guessing. What we can do is screen: we check playlists for botted and artificial activity, investigate suspicious spikes, and pull flagged playlists off the marketplace. So far that's 199 playlists and 66 accounts removed, and both counts update live on The Numbers.

Is placement guaranteed? What does a pass mean?

No honest service can guarantee placement, and we don't. Curators here decide freely: accept, pass, or place your song on a different playlist of theirs that fits better. A pass is a completed review. You paid for a real listen and an honest decision, and you got both. Right now about 29% of pitches reviewed by independent curators get placed (trailing month; our own editorial playlists are tracked separately so they can't pad the number), and that rate is published live, so you know the odds before you spend anything. Artists also rate the reviews they get back: 9,286 curator reviews rated so far, 90% thumbs-up.

Is Magic Nothing worth it?

It depends what you're after. A pitch currently costs between 3 and 20 tokens (1 token = $1) and buys a guaranteed listen and an honest decision from a real curator, and if nobody reviews, the tokens come straight back to your balance. If you want selective human feedback and a real shot at playlists that fit your music, that's what this is built for. If you need guaranteed placement, guaranteed streams, or a predictable return on every pitch, no honest service can sell you that, and we won't either.

Is Magic Nothing on Reddit?

We don't currently run an official Reddit community. Anything posted about Magic Nothing on Reddit is independent user content, good or bad, and isn't written or verified by us. Our current rules and pricing live on this site, the operating numbers are on The Numbers, and independent customer reviews are on Trustpilot. We point to Trustpilot because each review there is tied to a reviewer profile, sits under Trustpilot's own moderation rules, and we do our best to reply publicly.

Who runs Magic Nothing?

One person, plus the musicians on the marketplace. Magic Nothing is independently owned and operated by Zack Fischmann, a DIY musician who started making music in 2000, played his first shows in 2001, toured through the early 2000s, and still releases music independently as Marmalade Mountain. Magic Nothing Inc. was incorporated in California in June 2024. The platform's first line of code was written in July 2025, and it launched publicly at the end of December 2025.
